An Assymmetrical 1 1/2-story Shingle Style

In this tranquil Falls Church VA neighborhood, the owners and GTM sought to design a home to accomodate most of the necessary living spaces on the easily accessible ground floor.  The design solution took shape as an assymmetrical 1 1/2-story Shingle Style. One enters this home through a painted timber frame porch, defined on left by a turret-like library bay – and on the opposite end by a stylistically gabled 3-car garage bay.  Cedar roofing, shingle siding and painted wood panel treatment completment the exterior facade, while the interior enjoys the spaciousness of a heightened beamed cathedral ceiling.
