GTM Principal Mark Kaufman was recently included in a Mansion Global article exploring the usage of less conventional wood species in home design. He shared his preference for rosewood as a strong and water-resistant material for high-end furniture and cabinetry as well as wall paneling and decorative inlays. He chose to use rosewood for an office in this modern split-level project.
“Rosewood is a wonderful wood species that is used for longevity and quality, many times in heirloom furniture pieces and built-ins,” he said. “The color and grain patterns allow for new looks within similar designs as the wood itself becomes such a critical design feature.”
