GTM was engaged to design updates and create a modern look for this commercial office building so that Ownership could attain a better position for the property alongside newer comparable buildings in Bethesda, MD. The extensive renovation would include a new backlit façade, two-story lobby, modern fitness center and conference center.
A new backlit glass panel façade was a unique request from the client. The two-story glass storefront modernized the building’s entrance, while clearly identifying the main entry and providing a glimpse inside for passersby. The backlit panels boast a distinctive and striking aesthetic, and are particularly eye-catching when turning onto Montgomery Lane or continuing on Woodmont Avenue towards Bethesda Row. To fully bring the client’s vision to life, this tall curtainwall façade also changes color with its RGB-W lighting element to offer the option of a playful change.
The main entrance opens up the newly modernized lobby. The renovation accomplished the removal of heavy red stone from the floor and wall surfaces, and lightened up the entire space to make it more welcoming. This updated lobby area also provides access to the new lounge, conference center and fitness center. These fresh amenities, each a great benefit for the tenants’ use, are tied together in the design by neutral wood tones with high-contrasting textiles and wall finishes.
