GTM designs a wide range of Commercial projects including Retail, Restaurant and Recreation/Fitness facilities. Our retail spaces vary in scope and size, from improving shopping destinations, like Union Station and Harbor Place, designing shopping centers, such as Dobbin Way and The Shops at Rio Road, and specialty shops and pharmacies, such as Harley-Davidson and Walgreens.

Our restaurant design services can range from coffee kiosks to franchise design and implementation to large and small food courts and full service restaurants. Our team structure accommodates a full menu of design services including kitchen design, restaurant programming, interior design, and construction phase services. Recent projects include franchise implementation work for BGR and Capriotti’s sandwich shop, as well as new concept work for the Carving Room, Café Deluxe, and Tynan Coffee and Tea.

GTM also designs a recreational facilities, including tennis centers, fitness centers, gymnasiums, and health and wellness centers. Our past clients include various locations for the YMCA including Potomac Overlook and the Anthony Bowen Center in Downtown DC, the Tennis Center at College Park, Woodmont Country Club, Gold’s Gym, LA Fitness, and Washington Sports Club. Our recreational projects have received numerous architectural and interior design awards.

Our team offers a depth of experience in the selection, specification and implementation of furniture, art, accessories, and equipment. We also have specialized experience in developing graphics, wayfinding and signage programs customized for clients, which allows a project to be distinguished with its own corporate branding.

GTM Architects has experience in a variety of Multifamily/Mixed-Use urban redevelopment projects, including both lowrise and highrise construction. GTM has led the design team through the entitlement process on a range of projects from small infill to large planned developments. Our team members have extensive experience working with local regulatory agencies and neighborhood groups in the District of Columbia and the surrounding region.
