The transformation of the 5th floor at the Madison Building in downtown Washington, DC entailed renovating a single vacant tenant suite into three separate 2,000 sf spec suites. Each suite was designed with unique qualities, from the finishes and lighting to the layouts and flow.
Once the floor was divided, only one of the suites would have outside views of 15th Street, with the others facing the core of the building with rooftop views. Utilizing expanses of glass to bring light and a sense of openness into each space was crucial to maximize access to natural light in all the suites, including where light could sometimes be minimal. Each suite incorporates a break room with a custom island table, a conference room, and a combination of private and open offices.
