This comprehensive, multiphase renovation transformed a 92,200 SF athletic facility—operating 20 hours a day, 7 days a week—into a modern, efficient space with enhanced functionality and aesthetic appeal. Spanning over three years and carefully phased to ensure uninterrupted access for patrons, the project redefined the Aquatics, Exercise, and Skating Rink wings, bringing new life to each area through strategic reconfigurations, updated finishes, and essential mechanical and roofing system replacements.
GTM Architects oversaw every stage of the design and construction process, from documentation of the original structure to schematic design, material selection, construction drawings, permitting, and contract administration. The outcome is a revitalized facility that not only embodies a fresh and inviting aesthetic but also offers patrons an intuitive, highly functional layout.
In Phase 1A, the Aquatics Wing underwent a sophisticated redesign, including fully renovated locker rooms, corridors, and stairs, a refreshed concrete deck surrounding the swimming pool, and essential upgrades to roofing, mechanical, and structural systems. Phase 1B focused on the Exercise Wing, with a complete roofing system replacement, and introduced advanced mechanical upgrades to the Skating Rink Wing. Phase 2 consisted of a complete renovation to the Upper-Level cardio area to open up the space and revitalize the finishes.
